Lilacs in Julian!

Chris and I went to Julian thinking we would see daffodils but I was even more excited to see lilacs! The heat wave we had the past few weeks accelerated the seasons here and we blasted right through early into late spring blooms. The daffodils were all spent (I'm glad we saw the beginning of them on our last trip) and instead there were lilacs and poppies everywhere! Lilacs are my absolute favorite flower and I missed them last year so this was a really wonderful day. We went into a wacky antique shop that had two emus outside who were really scary and very much like velociraptors. We also saw so many turkeys! I gobbled at a pack of them and they gobbled back. So much fun.
