Camp Week Part I

Jacob is doing his first day camp this week and he's having a great time, In a couple of weeks the Littles have camp together. I'm stressed about that one because Dylan is a wildcard. For now we'll celebrate that Jacob reached a new milestone and made a camp buddy. I am trying to replicate the specialness of camp for the other two. Honestly, it's just as much for my entertainment because I'm sure Liam and Dylan would totally play videogames all week. Nope! I need a summer vacation, too! We visited the Living Coast Discovery Center. We've never been. It's a conservative area down by the border. We had to park and take a shuttle bus into the grounds to help reduce our impact on the ecosystem. It's pretty and they rescue hurt animals and such. Dylan decided that lumpfish are better than pufferfish but not as awesome as axolotl. I got to touch a guitar fish. We went to the beach which is especially great during this heatwave. Right away we saw a pod of dolphins and they even did that spouting thing! Liam was boogie boarding and Dylan was crashing around in the surf. We went to Balboa Park and did some fun shopping. I got a beautiful stone bracelet and I already forget the kind of stone but they are UV reactive and grt brighter in the sun. Liam got an opalized ammonite. Dylan elected to save his money which shocked none of us. He actually has hundreds of dollars of saved allowance and birthday money. I'm embarrassed to say how much. His obsession is having a lot of money. OK! We made s'mores. And we have had pizza for dinner 4 of the last 5 nights. It has been so nice to have Liam and Dylan as my adventure buddies. Usually it's Jacob and Dylan. Sometime, me and the three boys. It's a funny trio having #1 and #3. Dylan copies everything that Liam does for a laugh. So far, Liam is chuffed to be idolized. It's sweet.
