Torrey Pines Reserve: Up on the Cliffs

We usually enjoy Torrey Pines down by the surf, but this week we explored the clifftop and tried a few of the easier trails. We're excited to work our way from the tippy top down to the beach.

We learned a lot about how special these pines are (they are the most rare pine in the world) and about the human history (native Kumeyaay lived there and sailors used the unique profile of the cliffs for navigation) and geology of the area (it was an ancient sea bed). And see, it counts as learning!

Way down there is the trestle trail to our favorite beach!

That's La Jolla Cove

December, we're coming back to look for humpback whales out there.

Pumpkin shirt complimented natural color pallette.

Dylan always brings a rainbow. (prickly pear cactus - don't touch!)
