I don't mean to humble brag but...
Today I taught Jacob flippin algebra and Dylan read me a whole book for the first time!
I'm shaking things up as principal of Shifting Tides Academy. Core Curriculum is out the damn window. I will be teaching olde timey math. Jacob has been taught to write a paragraph to explain a math equation. He's intuitively brilliant at math. But with his speech challenges, it is so frustrating for us both to work out the "new" math. Now I'm the boss and we're going to learn to carry the 1 if it kills me. Solving for X was honestly just easier to explain than the method the textbook asked for.
Dylan, I suspect, has been reading to himself for some time. When I offered to read him 2 books if he read me 1, he grabbed The Foot Book and didn't make a single mistake! (That book was a gift from Grammy and Papa so that makes it extra special!)
Liam has friends! 3 of them! He eats lunch with them and they got in trouble for being too loud and silly. A teacher reported this at school pick up and Chris and I think, who cares? He's got friends he gets in trouble with because he's having so much fun at school.
Liam is also on the mend from his oral surgery and has been very brave about the whole ordeal.
On the last day of summer, there was a heat wave and I permitted the Littles to flood the backyard with the sprinkler.
The Foot Book!
