The perfect summer afternoon, in March

Life is stressful for us. No bones about it.
But an hour in the water and I am happy as a hermit crab!

We don't do vacations or trips or weekends. We do outings. Last weekend, we managed to scramble out of the house, racing the tide, and snag street parking in Carlsbad.

We visited the tide pools. With the full moon, the low tide was so very low that there was an acre of tide pools to investigate.

A picnic of donuts and adderall and we we were ready to find some critters!

Liam was in heaven. He was pointing out sea anemones and finding crabs for us.

The Littles are a bit timid of the slimy rocks and mysterious sea weed and decided to build race tracks on the beach. And they invented, as they always do, a dangerous game called "Rock Slide".

After a few too many enthusiasm induced injuries (poor Jacob) we headed home and made a quick stop at the Flower Fields.

I would do that every day.
