I didn't tell you about our snow mission?

It's been bonkers but I cannot let it slip by that we managed to get the kids to see the fleeting snow!

It was a fluke storm. A few weeks ago, there was rain and snow for days! We don't have anything like snow gear anymore, cuz, you know, Beach Bums! But I packed many extra socks and bought some cheap gloves and grabbed the rainboots and we were out the door to he mountains of Julian.

We got there just as everything was already melting. I did get to see daffodils poking through the snow which made me homesick. And we found a  state park just in time I slush around in 2" of perfect snowball snow!

I think I knocked over a child in my enthusiasm to add to the army of showmen that were growing in the field. The boys, Chris included, pelted each other with snow clumps. And after far less time than it took to get bundled up, everyone was very wet and cold.

We showed the kids the vista where we had spied he Salton Sea. They were less impressed.

Jacob was so happy to have seen snow. He's been missing it the most and wanted to plan a return trip. I guess next year, it's a Big Bear vacation or a trip to New England!

And, I had to drag the Littles to the beach the next day to have a Crest to Coast San Diego Weekend. Bonkers that we have such diversity!
