I don't want to jinx it!

Tonight is the first night of no paci for DJ. Wish me luck! I've been all over the map for weeks, trying every reason for him to give up the paci.

Pacifiers will be recycled into a playground structure (this was actually recommended by a parenting website!) It didn't fly.

Giving the pacifiers to new babies. Nope, those babies can't HAVE his pacis! (I worried he might attack random babies.)

His teeth will grow in crooked and he couldn't eat candy. This one made him think.

He'll get copious toys....

We settled on a combo of getting a coveted Lego set and that house faeries were coming tonight to take them all away.  Dylan was so excited about the racecar that he ran to the drawer and pulled out the pacis and even sprinted up to his bed to get the favorite Pink paci. Liam was a great brother and built the racecar and praised him for being a big boy.

I am prepared to continue bribing this boy for a few days with lots of big boy rewards.

I'm sad to see the pacis go, too , because it feels like the last bit of babyhood!
