Can you over encourage a child?

I just heard this comment up in the bathroom where Liam is painting in the tub.  To his father :

"You say,  'That's WONDERFUL! '  Mama will be so excited to see my wonderful painting! "

I hope he retains this confidence.  That would be my greatest success as a Mama.
