It is either laugh or cry
Liam asked for chocolate milk and I got distracted before I screwed the lid onto the cup. The very next thing I know there is little Bub reaching up on to the counter for the cup.
The next part happened in slow motion. I truly had enough time to catch the cup and prevent the entire contents of milk from spilling down the counter, over and in the drawers and in the cabinets, pooling on the floor ....and yet I just watched it happen.
Liam started to bawl. There was milk soaking his shirt and socks. It was on the stove somehow. I could have sworn that I only poured 8 oz!
I just cracked up! I was laughing as I stripped Liam down to his diaper, for the second messy time in 6 hours. I was laughing as I told him that I wasn't mad, that it was an accident.
Did I want to mop the floor and wash cabinets in addition to making dinner and doing yet another load of laundry? Hell no! But it is either laugh or cry some days and today is one of those days.
